About Us

Horseshoe Trails PTO is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  The purpose of Horseshoe Trails Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to unite home, school and the community. We must all cooperate and participate in the education of our children. The PTO organizes fundraising activities to provide for curriculum, technology, teachers’ aides, equipment and other items and programs that fall outside of the school budget, as well as the volunteers necessary to support those programs.

Why the PTO Raises Money?

Fundraising is an important responsibility of the HTES PTO.  Our fundraising efforts help to bridge the gap between the limits of the school’s budget and the needs of our students.  Since the PTO started, we have supported:

• Teacher instructional aides
• Library books
• Library Aides
• Instructional hardware and software
• Character counts assemblies
• Physical education equipment
• Shade Structures
• Musical instruments
• Mini-Museum
• Artist-in residence
• Student Recognition awards
• Spelling Bees and educational field trips
• Teacher and classroom supplies via the “Horseshoe Giving Tree”

How the PTO Raises money?

The PTO raises money in a number of ways.  A few of our fundraisers include the following:

• Direct Donations
• Apex Fun Run
• Box Tops & Labels for Education
• Ca$h for kids (gift card purchasing program)
• Natures Garden Delivered
• Spiritwear items
• Read-A-Thon
• Escrip Program
• Electronics Recycling
• Book Fairs
• Doozy of a Deal.

Many of these fundraisers are easy to do and are at no cost to you.  Sign up your Safeway and target card with the escrip program and HTES makes money everytime you shop. Buy a grocery giftcard before you shop through our Ca$h for Kids Program.  Cli[p box tops. HTES PTO also raises money through various  events .  These events include:

• The Hoedown
• Daddy Daughter Dance
• Mon and Son event
• Spririt nights at various restaurants (Cocomo Joes, CPK)
• Barnes and Noble Night
• Silent Auction
