Square 1 Art: Expect ordering packets by late in the 3rd week or early in the last week of October
Thank you to Ms. Paysen and all the volunteers that showed up to help in her classroom to complete this project. She was a lot of fun to work with and she worked hard to come up with meaningful lesson plans, make modifications where necessary. Only about 8 kids were not able to complete the project due to absences, which is phenomenal for over 600 students!
We will send out a blast next week to give people a reminder?orders will be due by 11/6. Expect order to be delivered on or around 12/2 and distribution to students will occur shortly after. There are plenty of keepsake items showcasing our students? art to choose from that make great holiday gifts!!
Mother-Son Night: Oct 25th 6-8pm, invitations went home Monday. If mom can?t make it, substitutions are welcome! There will be a food truck (Dilla Libre) and ice cream from Cookies and Cream for purchase available, life size games, dancing and magic show that begins at 7pm. Kids will be eligible for the raffle if they wear their Halloween costumes.
PTO website update: Shop/Donate cart feature removed due to malware. It was not a ?hack? but a virus that caused a redirect to a fishing site. We were able to restore a previous version fo the site and continue operating but eventually it broke the site. Our host GettingGraphic restored to the best of their abilities however we had to go in and add a lot of content that was removed in the process. The shop/donate feature could be added back but not before moving the site to a new host with better protection plans for a more reasonable price. In the meantime, we will go back to cash and checks. Although the online purchase ability was convenient, it has not seemed to improve sales or participation.
Turkey Trot update: The path has been identified! It is a 0.85 mile course from start to finish with a loop in the middle for kids that want to run more. We have our checkpoints for volunteer help figured out and a SignUp Genius will get set up this week. Prize selection is underway! This will be a lot of fun and we are excited to see what we can do with a big fundraising event ourselves. In the past, this fundraiser has been run by Apex where they took half the proceeds in exchange for marketing and character building platform. So now we have a chance to see if we can be as successful ourselves, and see what kind of work is involved.
Attendance for this evening meeting consisted of one teacher, Mr. P and six parents that included PTO exec board members.
